Everyone at DOY Services is involved in the lives of our individuals so our DSPs never need to look very far for help. Our Residential managers and even our CEO are very hands-on when it comes to our individuals and our staff. We don’t simply train our staff on the basics and then leave them floundering, so to speak. Our Residential Managers are at the sites multiple times per week to ensure the needs of our individuals are being met and make sure our staff are happy and don’t have any issues or concerns.

Our training program takes about 3-4 days and is meant to ensure our new staff are as confident and comfortable as possible before beginning his/her regularly scheduled shifts. Additionally, the Residential Managers and the CEO also work shifts with the individuals as well. Direct Support Professional

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Ensure adherence of agency’s mission, philosophy and policy & procedures. Conduct self professionally as a member of the inter-agency team and as a representative of this agency. Follow all policy and procedures set forth by this agency.
Provide therapeutic, safe and fun care and supervision of the client while in the community or in the client’s home as scheduled by this agency.
Maintain all required DODD certifications, complete all on-going training requirements and communicate effectively with the agency. Attend all staff meetings as scheduled.
Provide services as outlined in the client’s Individual Service Plan and document all services provided. Ensure client’s rights, health and safety is maintained. Ensure all petty cash and expenditures are properly receipted and submitted to the agency per policy. Ensure that all medications are properly stored, administered and documented. The home is clean and free from hazards. All paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
All staff are expected to transport clients or drive for business as directed by their client’s ISP. A valid drivers license and insurance are required to be maintained. Must maintain less than 6 points on drivers record.
Not disclose or knowingly allow the disclosure of any confidential information regarding a client.
Therapeutic – Provide guidance, redirection, and as many positive life experiences as possible for the client in your care. Help each client adjust to the emotional issues that they may be facing.
Notify the Agency promptly of any emergencies or crises that involve any client. Complete all Incident Reports accurately and prior to leaving work. Follow the MUI policy.
All other duties as assigned.
